Skills for Australia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work with Conocer to map skills and training carried out in Mexico in the Mining, Drilling and Civil Infrastructure sector to Australian National Standards and Qualifications.
Conocer performs a similar role to Skills for Australia for the Mexican government and the MOU, signed by our CEO Sara Caplan, will see the two nations working together to enable individuals to gain dual accreditation for their training.
“It’s an absolute honour to sign this MOU with Conocer, to collaborate on the development and recognition of competency standards across our two countries in the oil, gas and resources industry,” Ms Caplan said.
“This a great example of how we are working across continents to give people the skills they need to get a job, or a better job.
“Thank you to Ambassador Engel and Austrade LATAM, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Department of Education and Training representatives in Mexico, and to Dr Almaguer and his team in Conocer for working with us to make this happen.”
