To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:
13 units of competency:
5 core units plus
8 elective units.
Elective units must ensure the integrity of the qualification’s Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome. Any combination of elective that meets the packaging can be selected for the award of the Certificate III in Pulp and Paper Operations:
at least 1 elective listed in either Group A or B
at least 5 electives listed in either Group A, B or C
the remaining 2 units from the electives listed below in either Group A, B or C or any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
Where appropriate, electives may be packaged to provide a qualification with a specialisation as follows:
A minimum of 3 electives from Group A must be selected for the award of the Certificate III in Pulp and Paper Operations (Pulping)
A minimum of 3 electives from Group B must be selected for the award of the Certificate III in Pulp and Paper Operations (Papermaking).
