Training Provider Summary

Established in 1980 by Josy Knowland as ‘Film Make-up Technology’ the College has a first class reputation in make-up and special effects for providing professionally trained and highly motivated graduates who have achieved recognition both in Australia and internationally. This program has been designed for develop students in the skills required to be a professional Make-up Artist in the film, television, fashion, theatre, photographic and bridal industry.

The courses are presented through face-to-face teaching, demonstration and practical exercises. Students experience a simulated industry environment, with access to equipment, products and facilities reflecting current industry practice. The delivery and assessment will be in a simulated studio environment with a high degree of coaching and workplace-style supervision, conducted by qualified trainers and industry professionals in the field.

This training provider offers courses in the following delivery modes:

Face to face training

In-person training delivered at the RTO's site. Also known as 'on-campus', 'in-class', 'traditional face-to-face', 'on-RTO-site' delivery.

Facilities

The College is centrally located in the Sydney suburb of Glebe/Broadway. Very close to Broadway Shopping Centre, adjacent to Victoria Park and around the corner from Glebe Point Road. Student parking is available in nearby commercial car parks. The College is conveniently located near Central Station, Sydney's public transport hub, with buses frequently passing the College.

ACMUSE is housed in an up to date two-storey air-conditioned building that also contains a retail make-up outlet. The premises, all training facilities and equipment are professional and well maintained. To ensure smooth and effective operations, our administration office is also located at the premises. Facilities and equipment are set up, cleaned and maintained regularly to provide a pleasant and efficient working environment. Both staff and students have full access to all necessary instructional and assessment facilities, materials and equipment.

Services

Training services include experiential training from some of the nation's most experience make-up and special effects artists who have worked on well-known productions, in film, TV and in fashion, theatre. Courses are offered in a distinct pathway of learning from Cert IV in Screen and Media, the Diploma of Screen and Media to the Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts (with a special effects focus).

Financial Assistance

The federal, state and territory governments provide financial incentives and support for vocational education and training students to help them gain the skills required to secure and maintain rewarding and sustainable employment.

VET Student Loans

This RTO can offer VET Student Loans for certain approved courses. A VET Student Loan is a capped loan from the Australian Government to help you pay your tuition fees. Your initial loan debt amount (loan and loan fee, if applicable), plus indexation, must be paid back once you start earning over a certain amount. The compulsory repayment threshold for the 2019-20 income year is $45,881.
