Training Provider Summary

ACE Community Colleges is a not-for-profit registered training organisation (RTO 90032) which has been providing community education since the early nineteen-seventies and nationally recognised training and assessment services since 1995. The organisation is headquartered in Lismore, in Northern NSW, where it was founded in 1972, while satellite colleges and training venues in neighbouring regions have made our services accessible to a wide variety of communities ever since. In 2012, our Tweed Heads college was re-located to SE Queensland where we have continued to expand. Currently, the organisation operates discrete colleges at Burleigh Waters and Southport in addition to Lismore.

Our mission is to provide lifelong learning opportunities that lead to personal, social and economic improvement for people in our region and beyond.

To this end, we deliver nationally recognised qualifications and skill sets — proven pathways to employment and career advancement — in areas of high industry demand. These include qualifications in aged care and individual support, in early childhood education and care and in other disciplines across the community services and health sectors. We also deliver qualifications in business administration and cultural arts. Over the years we have developed an extensive network of industry collaborators across each of these sectors.

We also invest in building community resilience and capacity by tailoring the educational services we provide to the specific needs of individuals and groups within our community. We do this by providing customised training solutions for business clients and by consulting with stakeholders on the design and delivery of outreach programmes in townships and indigenous communities within our region. Many of these programmes are aimed at overcoming conspicuous barriers to learning associated with isolation, lack of opportunity and/or relative disadvantage. Our organisation also promotes community wellbeing through a range of leisure and lifestyle courses which encourage social engagement and individual self improvement.
