What is a White Card?

A White Card is a license required to enter construction sites in Australia. To obtain a White Card, you must complete the Unit of Competency CPCCWHS1001 - prepare to work safely in the construction industry with a registered training organisation (RTO).

WorkSafe QLD (and their equivalent in other States) cover workers in case of work related injuries. Workers are covered for medical expenses as well as wages. In return, they are asked to complete safety induction training - known as the White Card (formerly called the Blue Card).

While White Cards are issued on a State level, they are nationally recognised and you can use your White Card across borders. White Cards do not expire in Queensland (subject to individual States).

Replacement White Cards

White Cards can be replaced if misplaced or lost. In Queensland, RTOs are in charge of issuing the replacement Cards. You will need to provide your original Statement of Attainment, a digital signature and your postal address in order to place an order.
