Gowrie Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation, established in 1939, committed to its purpose: For those who teach and care for children, (we) champion good early childhood education and care. Because when children learn, we all grow. 

Our service offerings include Children's Programs located at Carlton North, Docklands and Broadmeadows Valley, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 3900) that delivers nationally recognised qualifications in the full scope of vocational training in Early Childhood and School Age Education and Care, and Professional Learning that transforms practice with sustainable learning.

This Training Organisation provides:

  • Delivery and assessment services
  • Courses of study through Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships.
  • Recognition for prior learning.

Delivery Options

This training provider offers courses in the following delivery modes:

Face to face training

Gowrie Victoria has three training sites located in Melbourne (Victoria) in Docklands, Carlton North and Broadmeadows Valley. All 3 sites are central to Melbourne's CBD and easily accessible via public transport. We also have the ability to run classes in other locations (including regional Victoria) where there is sufficient demand.

Offsite training

Offsite training is offered for Traineeships.

Flexible learning

Blended classes are offered for some qualifications.

  • Online (training available online or via email submission)
  • Attendance required (training includes some fixed-time online lectures or fixed time class components)
  • Self-paced (training has no set class times of set submission dates)

Mixed mode training

Blended classes are offered for some qualifiations. This includes 1 monthly class and weekly online faciliated classes on a week day.

Services

Gowrie Victoria has been championing and teaching good early childhood and school age education and care (previously known as Child Care) since 1939, because when children learn, we all grow. With this commitment to the sector and quality training, we aim to inspire our students to have careers where they can change children’s lives which, hand-in-hand, can change families and communities. 

Our Registered Training Organisation (RTO 3900) delivers nationally, accredited training qualifications in: 

  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care 
  • Diploma of School Age Education and Care 
  • Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management 
  • First Aid 

Our Accredited Training Qualifications are solely focused to those wanting careers in Early Childhood Education -it is the only sector we train in. Some other benefits include:

  • Students with a Gowrie Victoria qualification are highly regarded by employers due to our experience in the sector.
  • Trainers, assessors and administration support individual student needs. Our students receive extensive training plans, regular Assessor visits to work placements, additional study support and access to online resources.
  • Practical experience both in the training room and during work placements better allow students to be job ready.
  • Observation booths located at our Docklands and Carlton North Children's Programs give students a unique, bird’s eye view of how to implement theory into practice.

Financial Assistance

The federal, state and territory governments provide financial incentives and support for vocational education and training students to help them gain the skills required to secure and maintain rewarding and sustainable employment.

There are programs for all kinds of students; apprentices and trainees, new job starters, those re-entering the workforce, retraining for a new job or upgrading their skills for an existing job.

Subsidised Training

State and Territory governments dedicate funds to reduce or, in some cases, fully cover tuition fees for VET students. This Training Provider is approved to deliver subsidised training in the following highlighted states and territories. VET Student Loans

This RTO does not currently offer VET Student Loans for any approved courses. A VET Student Loan is a capped loan from the Australian Government to help you pay your tuition fees. Your initial loan debt amount (loan and loan fee, if applicable), plus indexation, must be paid back once you start earning over a certain amount. The compulsory repayment threshold for the 2019-20 income year is $45,881.
