Australasian Drilling Institute (ADI) is the only registered training organisation that delivers industry specific, “live and in real-time”, drill training on a global scale. Established in 2005 to meet the growing demand for trained, drilling specific personnel, ADI continues to prove itself as the industry leader.

Our focus is what gives ADI the competitive edge over other providers of similar training as our programs are designed specifically for the drilling, mining and civil infrastructure industries. Our training courses are developed to maximise the competencies a person achieves during their time with the institute.

ADI provides training services almost anywhere in Australia and internationally through our network of qualified, RTO endorsed Trainers and Assessors. ADI prides itself in providing you with personalised support with access to qualified Trainers who are industry experts with extensive knowledge and current experience.

Government funding support is also accessed by ADI where available for the programs we deliver to assist with the training costs for trainees, new entrants and existing workers.

ADI has developed a number of user-friendly digital training tools for access by individual learners, employers and ADI trainers and assessors to increase flexibility and service, avoid unnecessary paperwork, reduce effort and impacts on productivity whilst maintaining the highest standards of industry competence.

These tools are integrated into ADI programs including those available for:

  • New entrants to the drilling, mining and civil construction industries
  • School students learning about future careers in the resources industries
  • Current workers to develop attain qualifications and skill sets
  • Trainees in drilling and trenchless technology to gain industry skills and nationally-recognised qualifications
  • Experienced workers to undertake Recognition of Prior Learning of their acquired knowledge and skills to attain a qualification
  • Partnering arrangements with companies for employees to complete blended delivery programs with on-site training and assessment by endorsed trainers and assessors

Our goal is to continue providing quality training services through our strong partnerships within the Industry and delivering innovative and flexible programs and services to support all of our clients.

How do I choose?

Delivery Options

This training provider offers courses in the following delivery modes:

Face to face training

In-person training delivered at ADI's training sites including Brisbane and Cairns. Also known as 'on-campus', 'in-class', 'traditional face-to-face', 'on-RTO-site' delivery.

Offsite training

ADI can deliver in-person training using facilities at-or-near a client's workplace, or else in a mobile manner (eg. delivery at a regional/remote location for a specific period or for a specific training course). Also known as 'workplace', 'mobile', 'on-client-site' delivery.

Flexible learning

ADI delivers flexible 'blended' delivery programs which combine online learning and practical workshops or site-based training or skills assessment. Also known as 'external studies'.

  • Online (training available online or via email submission)
  • Attendance required (training includes some fixed-time online lectures or fixed time class components)
  • Self-paced (training has no set class times of set submission dates)

Mixed mode training

ADI offers a range of mixed mode and blended delivery programs across the range of qualifications and skills sets on scope. Also known as 'mixed delivery'.

Financial Assistance

The federal, state and territory governments provide financial incentives and support for vocational education and training students to help them gain the skills required to secure and maintain rewarding and sustainable employment.

There are programs for all kinds of students; apprentices and trainees, new job starters, those re-entering the workforce, retraining for a new job or upgrading their skills for an existing job.

VET Student Loans

This RTO does not currently offer VET Student Loans for any approved courses. A VET Student Loan is a capped loan from the Australian Government to help you pay your tuition fees. Your initial loan debt amount (loan and loan fee, if applicable), plus indexation, must be paid back once you start earning over a certain amount.
