Training Provider Summary

VHA’s special character is based on its understanding that it is the trainer who creates meaning for a learner, bridging the gap between a learner’s current state, of knowledge, skill and attitude, and a desired state. The trainer plays the pivotal role and must be both expert in the knowledge, skill and attitude being trained, and in communicating this to an uninitiated learner. The trainer’s role becomes that of a guide, leading safe excursions from the learner’s familiar state to a new, desired state. Vertical Horizonz SMEs train knowledge, skills and attitudes with reference to the learners context, environment and needs, creating relevance, meaning and urgency.  VHA’s training follows a structured sequence: Learners are given a full explanation of the desired state, its rationale and application; then a ‘best industry practice’ demonstration establishing both the relevance and standard of the outcome to be achieved; which is then imitated, and then practiced by the learner, before assessment. All VHA training involves the learner making increasingly independent ‘excursions’ into the trained knowledge, skills and attitudes, demonstrating these in relevant contexts.

VHA shares a common set of Vision, Mission and Values with the Vertical Horizonz family of companies:

The VHA Vision: Safety provides Certainty improving Productivity.

The VHA Theme: VHA are safety revolutionaries:  Through greater safety training experiences, VHA empower revolutionary change for industry, business and individuals.

The VHA Promise : VHA develop and build value in other people’s people. It’s not just about safety. It’s about responsibility. People are developed and empowered to take responsibility for safety leadership at work.

The VHA Mission: VHA provides ‘real training that saves lives’.

Real training is evidenced when learners embed learning into long term behavioural change, take personal responsibility for safety leadership at work, and  improve safety, reduce loss and increase productivity.

The VHA Values: VHA operates with Integrity, has a Respect for safety, the work and its stakeholders and believes in the provision and use of Leadership and Empowerment.
