GOTAFE is the largest vocational education provider in North East Victoria, offering over 150 courses to almost 15,000 students.

Primarily based in Northern Victoria, GOTAFE campuses are located in Shepparton, Wangaratta, Seymour, Wallan and Benalla. Specialised campuses are also located in Werribee.

The strength of GOTAFE lies in its industry connections and partnerships with schools and universities through strategic pathways that lead to either employment and/or University.

GOTAFE works directly with regional secondary schools to provide students with employment pathways and its Skills and Jobs Centre’s act as a one-stop-shop for job seekers looking to start training, workers needing to reskill, and unemployed workers needing guidance for retraining.

It’s this sense of community that GOTAFE creates which empowers students to grow, be challenged, and achieve meaningful employment.

There are nine GOTAFE campuses situated across regional Victoria, each featuring a modern learning environment with world-class facilities dedicated to the learning areas offered at that campus.

The GOTAFE campuses feature state-of-the-art baking facilities, beauty salons, barbershops, hairdressers, nursing and dental labs, animal grooming salons, technical trades workshops, a marine craft workshop, veterinary clinic and much more. These facilities allow students to learn practical skills in a ‘real world’ environment.

GOTAFE is proud of its strong relationships with universities, particularly La Trobe University and Charles Sturt University. These partnerships include the development of integrated vocational and university qualifications to provide regional and rural Victorians with more affordable and convenient choices to obtain nationally-recognised qualifications within their local community.

Financial Assistance

The federal, state and territory governments provide financial incentives and support for vocational education and training students to help them gain the skills required to secure and maintain rewarding and sustainable employment.

There are programs for all kinds of students; apprentices and trainees, new job starters, those re-entering the workforce, retraining for a new job or upgrading their skills for an existing job.

Subsidised Training

State and Territory governments dedicate funds to reduce or, in some cases, fully cover tuition fees for VET students. VET Student Loans

This RTO can offer VET Student Loans for certain approved courses. A VET Student Loan is a capped loan from the Australian Government to help you pay your tuition fees. Your initial loan debt amount (loan and loan fee, if applicable), plus indexation, must be paid back once you start earning over a certain amount. The compulsory repayment threshold for the 2019-20 income year is $45,881.
