Established in 2001, Odyssey House Victoria is a leading enterprise-based Registered Training  Organisation. Odyssey House specialises in accredited training for professionals in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) work and allied health fields. Courses are delivered via blended flexible delivery. Programs target people hoping to enter the AOD workforce and others already employed in the AOD sector or in allied health roles who seek professional development.

Odyssey collaborates with other major AOD service providers throughout Victoria and draws on ther breadth of AOD program expertise and service delivery models to provide excellent training and development programs that are well informed and relevant.

How do I choose?

Delivery Options

This training provider offers courses in the following delivery modes:

Face to face training

Odyssey House offers face to face delivery from its Richmond and Footscray sites. These programs are supported by online access to resources and submission of assessments via the student portal. The CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs is provided with attendance required up to one day per week over a 44-week period. Face to face sessions include discussions around required knowledge, opportunities for skills development and practice as well as role plays based upon case studies. Assessments are integrated across common units of competency as well as areas of knolwedge. evidence across multiple units of competency Selected units from the CHC53215 Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs are also available via face to face mode. Specific classes will be established where sufficient demand is demonstrated. Special guests inclulde subject matter experts with current industry and therapeutic expertise. All trainers have excellent skills and experienceas AOD practitioners.

Flexible learning

All qualifications and courses listed on the Odyssey House RTO 20995 are available in flexible and blended delivery modes. This includes: CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs CHC53215 Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs CHCSS00093 Alcohol and Other Drugs Skill Set 10524 Course in Working with Clients with Amphetamine-Type Stimulants Issues

Mixed mode training

All courses as follows are available in mixed mode delivery to suit the needs of workplaces and individual students and workplaces. Facilities

Odyssey House's training facilities at Richmond and Footscray are excellent.  Students are comfortable in air conditioned and or heated training rooms with access to the internet, whiteboards, comfortable seating and tea and coffee making facilitites available.   Public transport is within 500 metres of the Richmond and Footscray sites.

Training and break out rooms allow for small group work, and essential skills development in a simulated environment and for student comfort.

Services

Students can access direct support from trainers, tutors and assessors during business hours via email and phone.  Trainers and assessors will also advise of their individual availability to relevant cohorts.     SEe our webpage for our Standards of Service Delivery. Recognition  processes include Recognition of Prior Learning and Recognition of Current Competence and application of Credit Transfer. Student coordinators provide technical suport for the online access.   Odyssey House also provides information about student support and welfare agencies in its Student Handbook available from our webpage, as well as in house counselling and welfare support as required.

Financial Assistance

The federal, state and territory governments provide financial incentives and support for vocational education and training students to help them gain the skills required to secure and maintain rewarding and sustainable employment.

There are programs for all kinds of students; apprentices and trainees, new job starters, those re-entering the workforce, retraining for a new job or upgrading their skills for an existing job.

Subsidised Training

State and Territory governments dedicate funds to reduce or, in some cases, fully cover tuition fees for VET students. VET Student Loans

This RTO does not currently offer VET Student Loans for any approved courses. A VET Student Loan is a capped loan from the Australian Government to help you pay your tuition fees. Your initial loan debt amount (loan and loan fee, if applicable), plus indexation, must be paid back once you start earning over a certain amount. The amount for the 2018-2019 income year is $51,957.
