TAFE Queensland is Queensland's largest, most experienced further education and training provider, delivering practical, industry-relevant courses to more than 120,000 students each year. Courses are taught by experienced teachers who have all worked in their fields and are passionate about sharing their industry knowledge with the next generation of professionals. TAFE Queensland courses are delivered in a variety of ways – from more than 50 locations across the state, online, or in the workplace to ensure students get the practical skills and knowledge they need to work in their chosen industry. 

TAFE Queensland offers over 500 certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, associate degree and bachelor degree level courses focused on giving students practical skills that employers demand. Courses in nursing, children’s services, aged care, business, human resources, management, information technology, tourism, hospitality and events, produce qualified graduates ready to start their careers. TAFE Queensland’s creative industries courses in graphic design, visual arts, fashion, music, and screen and media give students access to a vibrant arts industry network delivered by teachers who are accomplished practitioners. As the state’s most experienced provider of trade courses, TAFE Queensland delivers apprenticeship and traineeship training in all major trades as well as engineering and building design diplomas for students wanting to build a career in the construction industry.

How do I choose?

Delivery Options

This training provider offers courses in the following delivery modes:

Face to face training

In-person training delivered at the RTO's site. Also known as 'on-campus', 'in-class', 'traditional face-to-face', 'on-RTO-site' delivery.

Offsite training

The RTO can deliver in-person training using facilities at-or-near a client's workplace, or else in a mobile manner (eg. delivery at a regional/remote location for a specific period or for a specific training course). Also known as 'workplace', 'mobile', 'on-client-site' delivery.

Flexible learning

Includes online courses and courses by correspondence. Also known as 'external studies'.

Facilities

TAFE Queensland provides a range of facilities with students completing their study in workshops using industry standard equipment; fully functional kitchens, health clinics, theatres and studios; operating restaurants, childcare centres, beauty salons and gyms; and digital learning centres. In addition, partnerships with local employers allow TAFE Queensland to support study in actual workplaces to give students valuable work experience.

Services

TAFE Queensland provides a range of specialist services to support students with their study, employment and personal needs. Services include career guidance; support for students with a disability; assistance for students from a non-English speaking background or who need help with language, literacy or numeracy; Indigenous Student Support Officers and access to financial assistance for eligible students.

Financial Assistance

The federal, state and territory governments provide financial incentives and support for vocational education and training students to help them gain the skills required to secure and maintain rewarding and sustainable employment.

There are programs for all kinds of students; apprentices and trainees, new job starters, those re-entering the workforce, retraining for a new job or upgrading their skills for an existing job.

Subsidised Training

State and Territory governments dedicate funds to reduce or, in some cases, fully cover tuition fees for VET students. This Training Provider is approved to deliver subsidised training in the following highlighted states and territories. VET Student Loans

This RTO can offer VET Student Loans for certain approved courses. A VET Student Loan is a capped loan from the Australian Government to help you pay your tuition fees. Your initial loan debt amount (loan and loan fee, if applicable), plus indexation, must be paid back once you start earning over a certain amount. Compulsory repayment threshold information is available on the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) website.
