Training Provider Summary

At "Plastic and Rubber Techniclal Education Centre" (PARTEC) and "Composites Training Centre" we train Australian Apprentices in the polymer industry. We train apprentices from every state, and have done so since 1998; as polymer expands into all industries our apprentices are increasing at about 30% per year.

At PARTEC we also have an accredited NATA testing lab for Tensile Testing of PE pipe for the civil engineering industries and councils; go to www.partec.qld.edu.au for more information.

How do I choose?

Delivery Options

This training provider offers courses in the following delivery modes:

Face to face training

The Apprentices we train are as Composites Technician, Fabricator, Injection Moulding Technician, Blow Film, Rotomoulding and Blow Moulding Technician, Extrusion Technician, Conveyor Belt Technician, Polyurethane Technician, Toolmaker and CNC Technician. We also hold courses in Polytec for Electrofusion and Buttwelding as well as Flexitec (PVC). We have many other short courses in Composties, Fabrication and Tooling.

Offsite training

At PARTEC we can deliver on-site at the mines, or in your factory for 6-10 particpants. Call us for an on-stie training quite and we will organise with you to provide to your needs.

Flexible learning

As most of our courses are practical, distance learning is not an option.

  • Attendance required (training includes some fixed-time online lectures or fixed time class components)
  • Fixed submission dates (assessment pieces have set submission dates)
  • Self-paced (training has no set class times of set submission dates)

    Depending on the course or the apprenticeship, we work in with industry and employers for the best results for all.

Facilities

PARTEC is situated on the Mt Gravatt TAFE campus in Block "P" at the top of the hill.  

We have a number of workshops with machinery for Injection moulding, CNC machine, Fabrication equipment, and Composites training facilites; as well as classrooms, 3D printing room, NATA certified testing labs and offices.

Some Apprenticeship training is required on the TAFE campus and some training can be done/observed at the workplace.  We work closely with industry for the best results.

Services

At PARTEC we provide Certificates, Statements of Attainment and Trade Cards as well as Apprenticeship Trade Cards on completion of trainin.  

We train industry employees from all over Australia and we work closely with University of Queensland and with Queensland University of Techonolgy on various projects.

Financial Assistance

The federal, state and territory governments provide financial incentives and support for vocational education and training students to help them gain the skills required to secure and maintain rewarding and sustainable employment.

There are programs for all kinds of students; apprentices and trainees, new job starters, those re-entering the workforce, retraining for a new job or upgrading their skills for an existing job.

Subsidised Training

State and Territory governments dedicate funds to reduce or, in some cases, fully cover tuition fees for VET students. VET Student Loans

This RTO does not currently offer VET Student Loans for any approved courses. A VET Student Loan is a capped loan from the Australian Government to help you pay your tuition fees. Your initial loan debt amount (loan and loan fee, if applicable), plus indexation, must be paid back once you start earning over a certain amount. The amount for the 2018-2019 income year is $51,957.
