At our Warrnambool campus, elegant historic buildings sit alongside striking contemporary structures and are complemented by our environmentally responsible gardens and student leisure spaces.

The recently-constructed Timor Street building boasts multimedia classrooms equipped with the latest design technology and a premium conference and events centre. This building also provides an open and friendly student services and enrolment centre.

Our Warrnambool campus also features a unique range of vocational training facilities including Food Lab and PURE Hair, Beauty & Wellness Academy.

It also offers a wide variety of innovative training and educational programs that have been implemented to support the needs of the industries and individuals of the local community.

How do I choose?

Delivery Options

This training provider offers courses in the following delivery modes:

Face to face training

In person training delivered at the RTO's site. Also known as 'on-campus' and 'in-class', 'traditional face-to-face', 'on-RTO-site' delivery.

Offsite training

Study off campus with South west tafe and discover the flexibility and convenience of distance learning. You will be provided with comprehensive study materials, and be assigned a tutor to provide you with specialist study support. a range of study areas are available from marketing and management to human resources and teachers aide.

Flexible learning

Some of our courses are delivered using a combined method of delivery modes. This might mean some on campus or workshop classes, along with some online and possibly even on-the-job (depending on the course) options. Where a course is noted as flexible delivery, please contact the course coordinator to find out what delivery blend is being offered for that particular course.

  • Online (training available online or via email submission)
  • Attendance required (training includes some fixed-time online lectures or fixed time class components)
  • Self-paced (training has no set class times of set submission dates)

Facilities

Library and Bookshop      

Open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
The library and bookshop are located on level 1, D building. The library provides access to books, newspapers, online databases, printing facilities and more. The bookshop offers a variety of stationery items and textbooks for purchase.

Pure - Hair, Beauty & Wellness Academy

South West TAFE's Pure - Hair, Beauty and Wellness Academy is an innovative hairdressing and beauty training facility located at our Warrnambool campus. We also offer a range of services to our students and the public. Please phone 03 5564 8848 for a hair, beauty or massage appointment.

Student hub

Food preparation areas are available in designated areas. Microwaves, sandwich presses, tea, coffee, milk plus hot water for beverages are provided free of charge. Please keep these areas tidy. Local and metropolitan newspapers are also provided with copies available in the café and the library.

Food Lab

Food Lab is a training facility for hospitality students to learn the skills required for the hospitality industry at our Warrnambool Campus. It is open to students, staff and the public on selected dates.

The Kitchen - Wyton x SWTAFE

The Warrnambool campus cafeteria is open Monday to Friday. An extensive, healthy and varied menu is available which changes daily. Other campuses have drink and snack machines with food preparation facilities in their Student Lounge for self-catering.

Travel Café

The Travel Cafe is a training Visitor Information Service and Travel Agency run by tourism students. Financial Assistance

The federal, state and territory governments provide financial incentives and support for vocational education and training students to help them gain the skills required to secure and maintain rewarding and sustainable employment.

There are programs for all kinds of students; apprentices and trainees, new job starters, those re-entering the workforce, retraining for a new job or upgrading their skills for an existing job.

VET Student Loans

This RTO can offer VET Student Loans for certain approved courses. A VET Student Loan is a capped loan from the Australian Government to help you pay your tuition fees. Your initial loan debt amount (loan and loan fee, if applicable), plus indexation, must be paid back once you start earning over a certain amount. The amount for the 2017-2018 income year is $55,874.
