Bunbury campus offers courses in a wide range of industry areas from business administration, computing, accounting, literacy and numeracy, visual arts, sport & fitness to aged care, education support, community services, nursing, youth work, and children services, English as a second language, hairdressing & beauty therapy, commercial cookery and hospitality and wider opportunities for work, among others.

Flexible study options can suit a variety of work and life situations so you get that qualification you want.

Our close association with local industry provides clear insights into what industry wants and needs from its future employees. Our lecturers tailor their delivery around those needs to help you get that next job or promotion. We look forward to welcoming you on campus.

The campus has a Co-op store which runs our canteen and sells coffee as well as providing bookshop services. There is an alfresco dining area outside the canteen.

How do I choose?

Delivery Options

This training provider offers courses in the following delivery modes:

Face to face training

This is the traditional classroom and workshop delivery with a lecturer in front of a group of students which may include full time studies, day release and block release delivery modes.

Offsite training

The Delivery and Assessment is conducted in the workplace by a lecturer. Delivery can sometimes be undertaken by a qualified industry supervisor who holds a Certificate in Training and Assessment however assessments in this case would be carried out by a SWIT lecturer.

Flexible learning

Flexible delivery includes; workplace training, workplace assessment, on-line learning and block release.

  • Online (training available online or via email submission)
  • Distance (training available via correspondence)
  • Attendance required (training includes some fixed-time online lectures or fixed time class components)
  • Self-paced (training has no set class times of set submission dates)

Mixed mode training

Mixed mode is a combination of on-line learning and attending a campus facility for assessments and practical work if required.

The Bunbury Campus has lecture venues, computer suites, workshops, hair and beauty salons, hothouses, shade house and hydroponics cultivations area, large and small scale commercial kitchens, Epicure Training Restaurant, a Virtual Enterprise Office and workshop, library, bookshop, canteen, child care facilities, accommodation nearby, ample parking on campus and an excellent bus service.

Library Services

Library services are available to all current South Regional TAFE students and staff. Student Library membership is valid for the duration of your enrolment.

Although the main Library is located at the Bunbury Campus, students from regional campuses may access resources through the Library catalogue or requesting resources through their lecturer or by contacting the Library. 

Epicure Training Restaurant

Offering a fine dining experience the Epicure Training Restaurant doubles as a training facility for hospitality and commercial cookery students who are required to participate in every aspect of managing the restaurant along with best practice in food and beverage presentation.

Conveniently located on the Bunbury campus, the training restaurant is the winner of numerous Gold Plate Awards. Fully licensed and renowned for service excellence, it is open to the public at certain times during the year.

Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy Studios

There are well-appointed hairdressing and beauty training salons open to the public and offers a chance to enjoy the benefits of a full service at a reduced price.

A variety of beauty packages or individualised treatments could suit your personal grooming requirements.

Come in and experience the talents of our apprentice hairdressers and beauty therapy students. Students are fully supervised by experienced lecturing staff.

Automotive Centre

The Automotive Centre is a multipurpose training complex with world class interactive technology and state of the art workshops and equipment. The Centre offers training for light and heavy duty automotive mechanics, electricians and air conditioning specialists and post trade training qualifications.

This centre of excellence has the capacity to accommodate 600 students comprising of pre-apprentices, apprentices, trainees and school students from across the South West.​

The Bunbury Campus places a premium on supporting our students and a range of services are available to assist students in adapting to the Institute environment including course information. The campus offers support to Students with a Disability and Indigenous Students as well as providing a student counselling service to all South Regional Tafe students across the region.

Financial Assistance

The federal, state and territory governments provide financial incentives and support for vocational education and training students to help them gain the skills required to secure and maintain rewarding and sustainable employment.

There are programs for all kinds of students; apprentices and trainees, new job starters, those re-entering the workforce, retraining for a new job or upgrading their skills for an existing job.

Subsidised Training

State and territory governments dedicate funds to reduce or, in some cases, fully cover tuition fees for VET students who wish to study certain courses.
Unfortunately, this Training Provider does not currently deliver any subsidised training.

VET Student Loans

This RTO can offer VET Student Loans for certain approved courses. A VET Student Loan is a capped loan from the Australian Government to help you pay your tuition fees. Your initial loan debt amount (loan and loan fee, if applicable), plus indexation, must be paid back once you start earning over a certain amount. The amount for the 2017-2018 income year is $55,874.
